Connect. Energize. Empower.

Founded by Lynches River Electric Cooperative and run on a volunteer basis by LREC employees, The LIGHT Foundation provides assistance for residents and organizations in the SC counties of Chesterfield, Kershaw, and Lancaster.

Making a Difference in Our Own Backyard

In addition to donations, funds are generated through various fundraising events throughout the year including raffles, golf tournament, auction, and more. Check back often to see what we're up to.

Raffles & Auction

The LIGHT Foundation relies on donated goods and services to support the auctions and raffles that form the backbone for many of our fundraising activities, and we've had everything from gift cards to a snazzy four-wheeler.

Community Outreach

We've provided Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas gifts for locals in need; donated school supplies and playground equipment; assisted with medical bills and funeral expenses; replaced an elderly woman's roof; and more.

Golf for Good

Hosted at the White Plains Golf Course, this local tournament gives players a chance to come together for a round of golf and support a great cause. Lunch, raffles, contests, and a ball drop round out a rewarding day at the golf course.

Brightening Our Community

The LIGHT Foundation raises funds through two major annual fundraisers (an auction and golf tournament), and we count on smaller monetary donations along with goods and services throughout the year. We're making an impact on our community at all levels – from up close and personal to small funding efforts to larger charitable undertakings – and we would love to get you involved in our efforts.
