What is the LIGHT Foundation?
The LIGHT Foundation was founded in 2017 by Lynches River Electric Cooperative employees and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2018.
LIGHT stands for Leaving an Impact, Giving & Helping Together.
The goal of The LIGHT Foundation is to improve the quality of life for individuals in our communities and to support the groups and organizations already making a positive impact in our area.
Employee-volunteers identify individuals, groups, or organizations in need in Lancaster, Kershaw, and Chesterfield counties and nominate them to receive assistance. A committee made up of employee-volunteers then reviews and approves nominations and allocates funds to help those in need.
Funds are generated through various fundraising events throughout the year including raffles, a golf tournament, auctions, and more.
